Great fun was had by all on Thursday this week at the Stormtrooper annual summer picnic and inaugural Stormies awards ceremony, hosted by Adam Bass and Martin Oestreicher of Golden Goose Licensing, and of course by the wonderful Original Stormtrooper team including Andrew Ainsworth. We and several other licensees were treated to a delightful spread of prosecco, picnic fare and strawberries and cream, perfect for a summer afternoon in the sun.
It was great to meet with the other licensees at the picnic and share our stories about the wonderful brand and our work with the license, and such a pleasure to share the afternoon with Andrew and Sharon, who even treated us all to a tour around the shop floor at 76 The Green, where the magic happens and the Stormtroopers come into existence!
Following the tour, we were excited to discover the winners of the Stormies awards, celebrating the successes of the Stormtrooper license, with categories including: most successful product, best use of design, most coordinated retail range, and best collaboration with a retailer.
We were delighted to find that we were announced the winner of the “most likely to succeed” product category for our upcoming food gift offering, which we are thrilled to announce will be available to purchase in time for Christmas 2018.
As the awards closed, the afternoon culminated with two fully-clad Stormtroopers joining the party, which was much to the delight of the group – and of local schoolchildren (and big children!), who all wanted their photographs taken with the pair.
All in all it was a wonderful afternoon, spent in great company. We look forward to continuing our work alongside the fascinating Original Stormtrooper brand to create a range of truly original food gifts for the UK retail market.
